Unintentional Sabotage

You: “I'm starting a new weight loss program next week!” Friend: “You know that never works, and you're fine how you are! You don't need to lose weight.” You: “Well... ok, but I want to do it for my health and...” Friend: “Yeah, you want to get pizza later?” 😕 ....................... You: “I decided to get my Master's degree!” Friend: “Wow, that's impressive! I'm sure you'll do great.” You: “Thanks, I know it'll be tough, but I've always wanted to do it.” Friend: “Cool, let me know if you need me to watch the kids at all.” 😃 ...................... It's usually not intentional, but we (as a whole) tend to sabotage or make it more difficult for people to improve fitness much more than any other form of self-improvement. Surround yourself with those that support your goals, no matter what they are. Hold your ground, you will be treated how you allow yourself to be treated. These are your friends so they likely aren't doing this on purpose, but change can be frightening as it threatens the status quo. You need to set the precedent. You will notice that over time the efforts you are making have a positive effect on those around you. We tend to be the sum of our 5 closest friends. 💪 P.S. Happy Halloween! 🎃
